| spurgeonryan said: i did a thread a while back saying there was no big anticipation for the wii u. In fact, interest in Nintendo seemed to be at an all time low. Now the Wii U is pushing un-impressive numbers out, the 3DS does not matter in the West ( where was the holiday line up of games for it?) and the iiU has barely been mentioned in places where it matters. Nintendo seems to finally get something right, but then they start getting other things wrong. I think things are different now. Core gamers completely left during the last few years of wii. at least with the N64 and Gamecube they were still hanging around. But Nintendo did one of the 5 cardinal sins with the wii. they allowed the casual market to swamp it with tiles, they released no games(ala 3DS now) and they did not care about third parties. thatwas acyually like three cardinal sins. Now everyone is surprised that third parties are sticking their noses up at nintendo on both there current systems and that core gamers are ignoring them? Now what happens to nintendo if it fails? |
The WiiU biggest "enemy" is the latest impression the gamers and the developers had of the Wii; similar to the PSVITA which has as "enemy" the latest impression developers had about the PSP.
If the WiiU fails, they will just continue to get money from the 3DS and will do R&D for their next console, just like it happened when the N64 and gamacube "failed".
