The success of Nintendo handhelds wasn't only dependent on Pokemon games and the N64 and GC were still profitable consoles even though they ended up with a (relatively) low marketshare. Also, as far as I know Nintendo have stated several times that the day they leave the hardware business, they would also leave the software side. |
