The test for me though isn't "highest personal metrics," it's his ability to help his team. And in that regard, I find him simply middling: even last year the Niners rarely put up a lot of points on offense, and while they have gotten some big blowouts this year they were to extremely mediocre teams.
Additionally, he's only fourth in QBR if you use ESPN's metric. He's 29th with the more traditional metrics. I don't use this to illustrate that ESPN sucks (they've got that covered), but merely to point out that relying on that is less than ideal.
