That is the question no one knows the answer to lol. Even die hard NIntendo fans struggle with this concept.

It's not a hard question to answer... Nintendo was obviously terrified that $350 US would be too expensive for a large part of the market, so they scrambled to cut the price down to $300 by any means necessary and offer it as a separate package.
