Every time I try to care about Nintendo's faults and how to improve the company, I only find myself getting depressed. Things are never going to change, Nintendo will be Nintendo. I just try to not care anymore.
That being said, Metroid is a pretty niche franchise, I believe. It's not exactly got the widest appeal with the game design and scenario. If Nintendo actually made more "Core" titles, we would see better sales for them since it would actually be growing a more "Core" base for Nintendo systems.
"Core" in my post = older teenager-focused game.
