34) Second Sight (PS2 / 2004 / Action Adventure)

Nobody guessed this on the forums, for I believe the first time.

Second Sight is a game about a man with psychic abilities who is desperately trying to remember his past. I have quite a soft spot for psychic action games, but there are disappointingly few - this and Psi Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy come to mind, with Psychonauts somewhat similar on the surface but very different once you get down to the actual gameplay.

You are really playing two simultaneous stories - one in the present, and one in a flashback in the past. The shooting and psychic abilities work together seamlessly, largely because they don't try to shovel in enormous numbers of these abilities. Fun fact: this is the only game I have ever played in which snipers have auto-aim functionality to some degree.

It has a metascore in the high 70s, which I feel is far too low, though admittedly not as low as the 60-something enjoyed by Duelists of the Roses (43).
