You're coming up with a lot of good ideas. Why don't you pick one idea with a lot of promise, do some research, write a timeline, and see where it leads? Sure, it takes a lot of time and effort, but I find good long history worth reading through. Besides, doing an alternate history that's only one paraagraph long isn't nearly as fun.
