Yay people here can see the future.

PS3 is the future. B_e_l_i_e_v_e

As an aside, I think the PS3 is the best rounded platform of the last generation cycle, so Sony delivered in the end, even if it wasn't as dominant as the PS2.

They did deliver.  They just paid the price of releasing a system near 3DO/Neo Geo level price levels due to Blu Ray drive and a few other things (Cell).  What I find funny is that the PS3 was the cheapest (at the time) Blu Ray drive available.  It should have perhaps sold better at the time but there are only a decent amount of people that are willing to throw down that kind of money on new tech.  The mass market price is around 200-300.  Now you see the PS3 selling even better once it hit that price point.

I think the PS3 was well worth $400-$500 ($600 is pushing it) considering you got a Blu-Ray player, a large HDD, a good (and free) online network, and probably the best next-gen console. It's also great at playing Netflix, image quality I find is better than the 360 or Wii U even.

Considering that Sony is still giving the platform a ton of support well into its 7th year with The Last Of Us, God Of War Ascension, etc. I think it was well worth it.

I'll gladly pay $400-$500 if PS4 is similar.
