that isn't true, most of the cost goes for publishing and marketing, Kickstarter is basically giving money directly to the developers and you get the game afterwards , no publishing shares and no marketing crap, and also No "Budget Slicing" the money you give, goes fully to the developers.
this is a great thing for gaming as a whole, and japanese developers should take the chance, screw publishers and their "make a game that appeal to people or you're fired!" or the "Make the game and we'll publish it, but we aint giving you money till it is a hit" and their other bullshit politics.
