Heh, opposite opinion here. I felt that the sequel just wasn't as memorable. The bosses were more "meh" (a few of them stood up to NMH's high standard, namely Captain Vladimir the Cosmonaut, Margaret Moonlight and Alice Twilight, but Sir Henry Motherfucker was right about the final boss being too stupid to put up with, and the retro minigames generally weren't as good, except for the Bomberman-esque exterminator game). Obligatory post of "Philistine."

I felt they were about even, boss-wise. Overall I thought the sequel did a better job of balancing fun gameplay along with constant mockery of gaming convention, without sacrificing much in the way of fun. Though in hindshight, NMH2 focused more on getting rid of what didn't completely work in the first game as opposed to making radical changes to the formula.
