Ok...Say the PS3 and 360 never came out and you were specifically interested in games that would typically be on  those two consoles wouldn't the Wii U attract you? Problem is, the Wii U is catering to a satisfied crowd. The only part of the pie that differs from the competition are the exclusives. The major crowd that Nintendo has a hold over are the Nintendo faithful and those are the ones selling out the Wii U as we speak. Lets see how long that holds out.

It will be interesting to see how this post template holds up when PS4 and Nextbox go head-to-head. If that ever happens.

The way its looking right now its going to be one console per year. Orbis 2013, Durango 2014. The only question I have left until they show one of the next consoles is how much they'll actually cost. Luckily Blu Ray will be dirt cheap and they can expand the disc size, so Sony will have to launch with a $399- $499 range.

But S.T.A.G.E., if Nintendo is trying (and failing) to win back a satisfied crowd, then what hope do the next Playstation and Xbox have? I mean, if consumers are quite content with keeping their 360s and PS3s, why would they upgrade? Especially for $500.

Fair question, the Playstation and Xbox will do just fine because the third parties are behind them completely. They will be the ones to make full use of new next gen third party engines. Consumers who are already gamers between the three companies will follow the games. The only crowd Nintendo needs to focus on keeping are the casuals who latched onto gaming, so lets hope the did that job because they wont be gaining the majority of satisfied consumers who play COD, the Mass Effect or played Arkham City. They wont even penetrate that base even though they wish they could. They need to the former Nintendo Wii users who bought the console as casuals and are new to gaming to stick around. My guess says Microsoft cut part of its numbers of the Kinect crowd from the Wii audience.

Watch this episode of BONUS ROUND, it's like 15-20 mins.
