I've been an xblg user for almost ten years and I have to admit, for all the money MS has taken in it would be nice to get some 'worthwhile' free content like PS+ has given it's users. But here's the caveat; MS as a company is doing fine and that stability results in more money for R&D, service offerings and end products, i.e., xbox 720.
Looking at Sony and the financial trouble that seem to be swallowing the company, it's fair to assume that future products.. PS4, are going to suffer a little bit if they can't figure out a way to stay profitable. So for all the free stuff that Sony fanboys love to throw in the face of other gamers, you do so in spite of.. and oblivious ignorance to... the dangerous financial position Sony has put themselves in by not aggressively chasing every dollar.
Sony fanboy in these forums know, as well as I do, that while paying for xbl might seem like a waste of money when there are free alternatives out there, mainly PSN, doing so ensures the health and continuity of a service I personally love.
The same honestly can't be said of PSN and it's fee based, upper tier counterpart PS+. If Sony continues bleeding like they are.. well, you can kiss all that free stuff goodbye and possibly, the products as well.
Think about it.
