... i suppose because the OP is "wiiU is NOT weaker than ps360" instead of "wiiU is NOT less fun than ps360".
i agree graphics are the only metric for progress but i do firmly believe power is an important one. 3D perspectives, sandbox games, massively interactive environments (think AC) are all gameplay elements specifically enabled by power.
i don't know if you are a fan of sucker punch but play sly cooper on the ps2 and infamous on the ps3 ... they have a very similar core gameplay mechanic but infamous multiplies it 100 fold in an open world environment. infamous is an amazingly fun gameplay enabled completely by raw power.
why i came to hate the wii (was nintendo only from NES to GC) was games played very "last generation" to me. while i have no idea what new innovations will come with more power i do know once i have them i won't want to go back to "dated", "last generation" gameplay. that's why it is so important to me that wiiU is a true generational enhancement.
i remain unconvinced.

OK, those are fair points. I disagree about the Wii, but I appreciate your opinion on the matter -- I think many video game players hold the Wii in low regard.
I'm ambivalent about horsepower when it comes to video games, because while I acknowledge technological advances allow for newer (or at least expanded) mechanics, more sophisticated AI, more realistic physics, etc., I worry that such a huge emphasis on graphics is bad for the industry and bad for gamers. Great graphics cannot transform a lousy game into a great one; but great gameplay can rescue a lousy-looking game.

the wii started out great. wii sports was mind blowingly new and refreshing. mario kart is another i hold in great regard. but then nintendo kind of stopped focusing on what make the wii so great to me ... motion. SSBB was good but nothing really innovative. a broken online (which is now important to me now that i have left college and my friends don't live in the same house as me) didn't help. games like NSMB wii/donkey kong/monster hunter/the last story/xenogears aren't bad but they aren't what i wanted a wii for. take out the motion and i'm left with a dated game. then things like metroid other M were just flat out bad.
i wanted more in the line of zelda SS. non mini-games that actually use the main selling point of the wii. ..but by the time zelda released i turned very anti nintendo. never played SS even. the whole "imagine the possibilities" line in particular pisses me off.. i don't feel the eluded to possibilities were ever fully explored on the wii. i spend an aweful lot on wii hardware (wii, 2x wiimotes nunchucks and motion pluses, classic controller, balance board) for how many games were actually fun imo.
