Launch games are at least on par with the current gen versions. Since they're launch games, the development and porting process of those titles was rushed to meet the really short deadline.
So if I were you, I'd take any comparison article with a grain of salt.
The Wii U is more powerful and will offer visuals not possible on the current gen consoles. Even if it won't be leaps ahead.
