I know there seems to be some sort of resolution incompatibility with my TV. Hmm...again something I haven't heard of before. Does the picture actually appear using the HDMI cable or is it all distorted? 

May just be a one-off thing, like the remote synching earlier in the thread with Paul.

I can't test it with HDMI, my current TV doesn't support it.

First i want to see how NSMBU looks on it. If i can see everything, i'll just let it lie for now.

Ah fair enough then. That could be a problem for many people because the WiiU only comes with HDMI in the box (I think?). Never considered it a problem until now...
