Nope. Shipped v sold. The gap could be anything. Bear in mind shipments are massive this time of year.
this is as of novermber for ps, and end of septmeber for xbox. are the sony numbers ship or sold? but either way the gap has never been smaller
Again, you don't know that because you don't know the 360 November 16 shipments. Considering the supply needed for November I'd say the gap is probably bigger.
true, but usually it takes more time for PS3 numbers to catch up to xbox numbers. it only took about 1 months for PS3 to match the 360's last announced shipments.
Edit : one month

I refer you back to the previous post. This is THE shipment quarter, 360 will have shipped at least 72m by now, at least.

aye, was thinking this too when you see massive shipment announcements now, you really have no idea how many of whatever is shipped in the next month will end up in the Jan sales after failing to shift over the holidays. Think of how many game shops are in the world and consider each of those will have their own pile of consoles ready for santa to make for kids over the holidays :D this is the number you need to take away from 70million to get the actual number sold to people, and yeah like Kowenicki said this is the Month of filling store rooms.
