| RolStoppable said: The Vita's problem is that the vast majority of the market buys hardware to get to the games. The Vita doesn't really have interesting games and people don't like to buy into a system that might very well be dead in the near future. The most damning thing is that there is no notable first party software push which sends the message that not even the manufacturer believes in its own device. On top of this you have big third party games that all failed to live up to expectations. FIFA 13 was a repackaged FIFA 12, Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation was just an okay game, CoD:BO Declassified is an embarrassment and Need for Speed: Most Wanted apparently tried to please different audiences of racing fans, but failed to satisfy either (NfS comment based on regional review of PS360 versions). You are asking gamers to believe in a system and shell out money for something that is neither backed up by Sony, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Activision or any other big publisher. Right now is the worst time to pick up a Vita, because its future is so uncertain. |
I strongly disagree with you. This system is not in risk of dying in the near future. It's ongoing existence is important for Sony's profitability. It's development costs need to be made up and Sony is pushing forth gaming with heavy support. Which is baffeling to me if you believe the Vita isn't being supported by Sony. Look through the list of games Vita has: Uncharted, LittleBigPlanet, Gravity Rush, Wipeout, Modnation, Resistance, Hot Shots Golf, Little Deviants, Unit 13, MLB 12, Shinobido 2, Reality Fighters, Minna to Issho, Monster Radar, Motorstorm RC, Escape Plan, Hustle Kings, Sound Shapes, and Super Stardust Delta all in less than the first year. Coming soon: PlayStation All stars, Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, Tearaway, Killzone and more. These are all published by Sony with established franchises and new IPs. The Vita is launching its 2.0 OS update and has several mainstream apps. The PS Mobile runs on Vita and PS Plus is launching. The 1st party support is immense.
Third party support is more limited, but still Konami put out seven games, Ubisoft six, EA five, Namco four, Sega four, and WB four.
Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(
