Yep some USB 3.0 devices can draw up to 900mA, where as USB2.0 max was 50mA.

The USB2.0 port is the thing that will limit this as it was ot designed to handle 900mA. Hnece why there would be a Y cable invovled.

Does that mean I will have to buy a Y cable?
