Wii U can't even play DVDs or Blu-Rays. That alone could lead people to pick a different console.


Nintendo TVii could be a game changer for them, but it has to actually work great. We'll see.

I don't understand why Nintendo doesn't just offer a DVD/Blu-Ray channel via download for $30 or something (thus offloading the royalty fees to the consumer ... fair enough, you want it, you pay for it).

Even though disc based movie viewing is on the way out, given the added functionality of the Wii U tablet as a remote control, it would be nice to be able to view all your media on one device using one remote.
