SPOILERS PRESENT
We get to see a train ride where bond ( loses more than just the NoC list), nothing exciting there, then another hour of him training and doing nothing but muddying up the situation. The new Q is a lamo. Oh! Here take this gun that only fires with your finger prints, and a homing beacon! Whoo! Mean while fat, chinese men can be eaten by ( spoilers) ( also bullshit?). Then that sniper...what is the deal with that? Bond seriously let him fall out the window that was shattered by a stray bullet? After the boring training sequence we get to see Loki...errrr... I mean Bardem in a cell mocking "M" and making her feel bloody awful! Is it just me or did it seem like he wanted to help her have his babies? Then we get another half hour of "M" cracking on with the Female Prime minister, who is a bitch, and the whole situation going from Joker in a cell to joker crawling through the sewers making his escape and the whol Scotland yard and MI6 not being able to stop the ( guy with the missing Spiler). He then walks into the government headquarters. let me stop there. Just try to walk into the White house. Put on a police uniform,, die your hair like a crazy person, smile maniacally, and try to walk in there with a gun and some henchmen. Must I go on? 2.4-5 stars. Amp made it lose .1 for arguing. |
But your argument is nonsensical. This film was meant to be about the simplicity of Bond, rather than having hundreds of tacky one-use gadgets. And I liked that; it was more the thinking-man's Bond anyway, rather than just go in, shoot bad guys, use gadgets and get the girl. Which is fine, but this film should not be criticised for being now. Also, M was made to feel bad throughout the whole film; that was the point. To make her realise that she's only brought the organization down by being unable to let go of the classics and embrace the modern world. So that made sense.
And the reason MI6 couldn't stop him is because he was a computer hacker; a modern, youthful character in the old-fashioned HQ of MI6. Q was the only one who seemed like he was actually trying to improve the facility and modernise their security.
And the whole 'walking into government' thing would probably be easy enough. Sure the doors are closed but there's not that much security; especially only for a hearing. I think perhaps you're mistaking the Houses of Parliament for Downing Street; which would have been ridiculous to just walk in.

Anyway, opinions are opinions, but you sound more uninformed and disappointed that it was trying something different; and as such are being unfairly harsh.
