Isn't this already a thread? Listen, Gizmondo cost as much as a 360, only had 35 games and went bankrupt in less than six months after its debut, if that's not a failure I don't know what is. Sure you can buy it cheap now but I can also buy a Dreamcast cheap too, what's your point. So what if it can homebrew, the GP2X is better equipped for it and already have a larger emulation base. The Gizmondo was a fund and dump scheme like the Phantom, it would have never succeeded and sure as hell can't succeed now that its been dead for two years.

Why is everyone still looking at the past? The Gizmondo used to cost as much as the 360! Now it's only about $60. Just because Tiger went bankrupt, doesn't make the Gizmondo bad. They just didn't have enough money to back it up. Sure, it will never succeed, but that doesn't make it bad. For everything it can do, it's awesome. And the GP2X is also a failure, but it's also an awesome console. So many consoles that were failures, are awesome, kind of like the Playstation 3.

Gizmondo is a failure, like many other consoles, when compared to the more superior ones, but that doesn't make them bad... At all...

All consoles are good. Gizmondo is better than Gameboy Advance because it can play all Gameboy Advance games, and do so much more, but the Gameboy Advance was much more of a success.

"All consoles are good"...false.

You act like price isn't an issue. You could show me a handheld with the power of a PS3 right now, but if it's $2000, no way.
Just because Gizmondo can emulate GBA games does not make it inherently better than a GBA. GBAs are small and affordable, and can play multiplayer games even.

Listen. I suggest playing your Gizmondo and enjoying it...you're not going to get most people to admit it's anything but a complete failure.

All consoles are good? True!

Sorry, all consoles are marvels of engineering. Some are better than others, but if you look isolate each one of them, they are all complex pieces of machinery. To say that any of them are bad, even though you lack the knowledge to design one yourself, is wrong.

At the end, it is all on how you view the console, or handheld. A handheld may only appear to be bad, if compared to a more successful one. And handhelds, and consoles, are always getting better in the technical side, but not always better in the popularity side.

All consoles, and handhelds, have stronger sides, and weaker sides, when compared to others. The Gizmondo is a failure in terms of popularity, but not in terms of hardware.

The worst console out there, in terms of power, is the Microvision, because it is the first, so it is understandable. However, nobody criticises it, because for one thing, it predates all other handhelds, it was cheaper, and a lot more popular than the Gizmondo, therefore, it wasn't really a failure, unless you compare it to the Gameboy.

None of you have played the Gizmondo, so I don't understand how you can hate it so much. It's almost as if you want to hate it. It only failed in terms of popularity. That is it. Okay, it wasn't popular. So? It's still a really good handheld. All of you have your opinions, but if you never played the stupid thing, then you don't have an opinion about it, all you have is assuptions.
