I'm wondering where people are getting the idea the Wii won't have a long life, seriously, if Sony fans can't have the numbers on their side they've got to come up with some sort of other bird brain theory to quell their insecurities. "Oh no, the Wii is mopping the floor with the PS3, well let's not only try and convince ourselves that we're still true gaming and that Sony is a perfect company but lets also try and make some excuses as to why the Wii's victory doesn't count!" Just one sad justification after another, how far Sony fans are having to reach just to sleep at night.
And how long do you think the supply problems are honestly going to last? Just be glad the're happening in the first place to keep the gap between the PS3 and Wii from being even greater, and Sony from suffering an even greater embrassment.
The PS3 will never sell beyond 80m, maybe not even 50m, if it sells at a consistent rate as it is now it will have sold 46m in seven years. And I hate to say it but the PS3 is the only console in danger of Gamestores wouldn't have to stop accepting PS2s if there wasn't an issue here. having a very short lifespan here. It's the only console to have reported a 2 billion dollar loss and despite what you want to believe, Sony's pockets aren't even as deep as Nintendo's when it comes to loose funds.
You will not see a price drop in the PS3 for years to come, you will not see the PS3 suddenly jump to life because of two games, just pray to god it was better built than the PS2.
As for the PS2's problems its not uncommon for an individual in the states to know multiple people who have had to buy at least two PS2s if not more so I honestly don't need numbers to know the truth. Deny it all you want, but the truth is the truth and it still exists whether you have some statistics to wave in someone's face or not.
