Phantasy Star Portable 1 and 2
I haven't actually played them, but if they're as good as the Dreamcast original than they should not disappoint.
Valkyria Chronicles 2 is supposed to be very good.
Sega Genesis Collection has Phantasy Star II, III and IV. You can't go wrong with that. Phantasy Star IV is the best 16bit RPG of all time.
Ys: The Oath in Felghana, Ys: The Ark of Napishtim and Ys Seven
The Ys games are almost always great. Get at least one. I like "Oath" a lot.
That should get you started.
