What exactly does that prove?  That has absolutely nothing to do with the development of the game medium.

And they couldn't use Matsushita because at the time they were a competing company.   Remember 3D0's M2 console?   Matsushita bought the rights to it but never had could launch it.  When the M2 project basically became vaporware, they teamed up with Nintendo for the N64 DD and later the GC.

it has everything to do with game development. If they are making consoles that are difficult to make games for on purpose thats going to directly affect what games said system gets, which is what we saw with N64.  It proves that they made a mistake and a big one back then.

fair enough, still doesnt mean they were forced to go with cartridges, they could have waited for the Matsushita situation to e done, not saying that it would have been a better option, but it is an option.

How does admitting they made the game system difficult to devlop for indicate that they intentionally utilized cartridges over CD's?   Especailly given that twice they tried to get a CD manufacturer to work with them on the system.   If they were intentionally going to use carts as a means to make it difficult to develop for, they would have went with carts from day 1.    It should also ne noted that by difficult, he was referring to the technical aspects of the hardware itself, not the technical limitations of the game medium.   Try writing your own microcode for the N64 and you'll see what I'm talking about.  Rare did it, Factor 5 did it, Boss Games Studios did it.    Nobody else could.   Few even tried using Nintendo's own secondary Trubo3D microcode.    And fewer still actually wrote 64 bit code despite the system being 64 bit capable because it was too dman hard to make the system process it fast enough over the use of 32 bit code.

What do you mean "after the Matushita sitation was done"?   Dude, Matsushita were trying to release a competing console.   Was Nintendo going to wait until late 1997 for the M2 to launch and then ask them to develop a dsic drive and discs for them?
