It's a new console for little 9-year-old Johnny and his 14-year-old sister.

This new ad agency that Nintendo hired is honestly worse than the one they had before. Why even bother switching if this is the best they could come up with for a major product launch?

Huh? How do you get that out of this commercial?

Of course, the Wii U would be an easier sale if it also had an adult-oriented blockbuster like Wii Sports 3, but you can't have everything at once.

I got that out of the commercial because the majority of the commercial is little kids using the system and the token "oh great, my 14 year old sister wants to watch TV, what's little Johnny to do?".

That's the message they choose to send, you can't fault the viewer, they obviously have chosen certain demographics they want to tie the system to.
