I was lucky to have loving and understanding parents and enjoyed school as much as a kid who doesn't like to study can. I can't relate to this at all. I've never escaped my world to enjoy a video game fantasy. I've always enjoyed entertainment for what it is.
This fan film is well made, but it makes me sad. The poor girl escapes, like the title suggests, from her horrible life into a video game world. Even at the end of the film the poor thing still has a terrible life to return to when her gaming session is abruptly ended. It's the kind of depressing and emotionally draining type of film that I avoid.
It's good that video games can relieve the torment that some are forced to live with. I just don't typically like watching films that leave me sadder at the end then I was at the beginning.
