Now I'm curious. From my understanding the sequel (according to reviews) is just a refined version of the original, but nothing has essentially changed. My main problem with the original Borderlands was that it was far too adapted to co-op play, which made the missions extremely simple and repetitive, and the overarching story presentation was so laid back and subtle that I found the whole game meaningless. |
Main story is much deeper now. You will meet all playable characters from the first Borderlands on your journey. The world is much less sterile. Lots of NPCs now and many have their own bunch of side stories to give, game length has been doubled. Much more different looking weapons. Many more enemy types.
Still a heavy focus on co-op but it's much more enjoyable than the first Borderlands on a solo playthrough.
I guess all those points are mentioned in the Gametrailers review as well so go watch it !
