Zappykins said: Nobody has said it yet, but I thought Halo: Reach has some pretty great details - and used it graphics well. You could see aliens flying in the distance - but if you get to close they will attack you. Plus the lighting from you energy pulses in the weapons and such. It was great. (Halo Anniversary uses the same engine.) Course I think Halo 4 will be even better. But at the time, way back two whole years ago, it was quite good.

Bungie has never pushed Halo to its limit in either graphics or story.

That's very true and why I'm so excited for Halo 4. As a fan of Halo it was always frustrating that we had to go to other media to flesh out the incredible Halo universe. The games should be the flagship of the franchise in every way. From what I've seen 343i has put the kind of polish I've always wanted to see on Halo and they seem to really understand how to tell a story.

I agree, the Halo story outside of the anime hasn't interested me until now. The hype is the only thing that kept me playing to tell you the truth.

Yeah, I loved the Anime too as well as the books and graphic novels. The live action Forward Unto Dawn has been spectacular.
Halo CE had a complete story and was a great introduction to the universe. Halo 2 expanded it, but didn't tell it well and it made me feel like there were missing segments. I loved the Covenant viewpoint with the Arbitor, but I just wish we could have seen more. Longer cut scenes would have been nice. Halo 3 felt the same was to me and it still bothers me that poor Cortana was absent from 3/4 of the game. Halo 3 ODST had a great story with and it was told very well. I wish all the Halo games told such complete stories. The same goes for Halo Wars. Halo Reach was all over the place and skipped over huge spans of time. The missions didn't feel connected because the story jumped around so much.
Halo 4 looks to be the deffinitive Halo experience.

Halo 1 was king for me in story and multiplayer, Halo 2 was good but it was more about the multiplayer in that game for me. Halo 3 had a good story but great multiplayer, Halo ODST was fun to play with friends and Reach...lol lets just say I felt nothing when they all died.

I think a lot of people feel the same way. I've never been big into multiplayer. I played a ton of LAN when Halo was king, but I never took it seriously. By the time Halo 2 came out it seemed like everyone had gone pro and just wanted it for multiplayer. I was more interested in the campaign and still am.
