The wikipedia definiton is faulty lol I mean competition is in no way related to hardcore games. So is Gran Turismo 5 proloque or any other game that in at least 1 region lost its online features. or singleplayer games like skyrim that dont have competitive gameplay at all no hardcore?

TBH wikipedia is full of retards. If they wrote some good wikipedia articles and then do shit on another they can easily block it from further corrections. So their shit stays there forever unless a person with "similar or higher rank" cares and removes the block or corrects the article.
The idea of wikipedia is good the execution is not.
And in my opinion hardcore or casual dont even exist. Its all about easily accessible games and non accessible games. I mean if I want I can play mario 64 (single player game) complete it and then ask my friend to beat my time. So everything can be competitive it does not matter if there is a gamemode for it inside the game.
And just because I can find people online that are better than me doesnt make the game challenging it makes the opponent a challenge not the game itself. So theoretically Call of Duty with its way to easy singleplayer campaign is more "casual" than Mario Galaxy because you die more in Mario than you do in CoD. I can also play Wii Sports or Kinect Adventures competitive and depending on the opponent its hard or its not.
As said before its about accessible and non-accessible. people should finally drop this hardcore/casual kindergarten crap.
