Nintendi/Sony doesnt choose who they are in competition with, the sellers do. They are both dedicated game handhelds, regardless of their approaches.Kids and parents and adults will look at that shelf, see Vita and 3DS side by side, and they will make a choice. |
Yes, that's why it is so hard for Vita. It's dealing with the price disparancy. It doesn't help that 3DS has full backwards compatibility with DS. Honestly the Vita isn't that expensive, but people aren't comparing it with the tablet devices that would make it cheap/competitive. Right now it is viewed as the expensive option out of two options. Plenty of consumers are uninformed about either system, and the retailers can be just as uninformed. Maybe the Vita will find a spot on different shelves after PSM become large allowing the feature to have the features to compete directly with tablet functionality. Problem not, it will be seen as a game console above all else. The device needs more consumer awareness, which it probably won't get until it becomes a little cheaper, has PSM in full force, and a couple smash hits.
Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(
