I think STALKER deserves to be discussed together with horror and scary games. It was very scary because the atmosphere is dark and tense, the environments hostile and the monsters felt very scary, almost evil.

I wish I had CGI's new comp to run STALKER and its great mods on.

We have a love/hate friendship slime, but I'm with you 1000% percent here! I got to the underground area of Shadow of Chernobyl late last night. Very few games share the intensity of that portion of the game!

Cool. Are you playing the vanilla version or with that mod that tries to recreate the game as it originally was meant? I will replay it with that mod whenever I buy a new PC.

What other cool games have you tried on your new PC? I mean for graphical reasons obviously.

Crysis 1 & 2 (Vanilla & with MaLDO HD texture mod), Far Cry 2, & Battlefield 3. All of them blew me away! I'm playing Vanilla. Now that I hear there's a cool graphics mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R., time to go do some downloadin'!

I doubt it does much to the graphics of STALKER though. I think it just makes the game more complex and more open as it was originally intended by GSC game world.

What about Elder Scrolls? I haven't kept track of Skyrim mods but I bet there are tons that make the game look good.

Also, playing BF3 on PS3 makes me sad. It's the first time in this gen when I am truly suffering from bad graphics. They're just so bad compared to the PC footage I've seen. Not just bad to the eyes, but it actually hurts the gameplay when you can't see the details properly, to detect people lying in ambush in the foliage and all sorts of stuff.
