 actually, all batteries can spontainiously burst in to flames or explode. The PSP could have been off or on, and it probably would make little difference. It aslo could have been aftermarket or a sony battery, but sony's have a better chance at being safer, but there have still been problems with sony batteries as mentioned before.

There have been cases of cell phones batteries exploding burning peoples legs severly, yet they weren't widespread problems (like 1 battery type explodes 1 time, and never hear about that battery again). which is no different than this case. So again as NJ5 said. Devices with batteries should be kept far away from your body, whether the device is "on" or not it does not make a difference.




If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
