I actually like our odds vs. space aliens. While they were wasting their time discovering interstellar travel, we've been killing each other. Seriously, if their is one thing humanity is exceedingly good at it's killing... something I doubt any aliens have done in a long time if they have been unified enough to make the scientific advances to visit us.
