I should say 'most enthusiastic hardcore pc gamer' would fit better ... not counting the causual gamers because they will stay 1080p and less for many more years.

but this will change if newer consoles with those resolution comes out or a bluray2 maybe. We will see it maybe not in the next 2 years like 1080p but I'm pretty sure in the next 4 years.

You forget the multi-display resolutions (all above 1080p) is tracked by a different category in Steam.

And there a lot of guys with multi-display.

yeah but "a lot" will be also maybe 5-10% and of those most will only use one as gaming monitor which they also use in 1080p then. i would say maybe 10% use above 1080p and some of them use 1200p which is below what he said first .

it's abviously something different if you talk about the super hardcore players like he said now but that was not what he said first.
