Can Wii U keep those "hardcore" players once the PS4/720 come out and start getting certain games exclusive and/or superior 3rd party versions of big games?

That's my bigger question. I'm sure it will have a solid launch, but 2013 Jan-May are going to be more indicative of the Wii U's long term success.

I hate to say it, but I think longterm Microsoft has a better formula for getting both casual players (Kinect stuff) and hardcore players (Halo + all the 3rd party content).

Wii U has BLOPS2 this year, but what about next year for example? That would probably be Modern Warfare 4 ... is MW4 going to run the same as it does on XBox 720? If the answer is no, then I see most of that fanbase sticking with the XBox brand.

Do you honestly think that Activision would put the next COD game ONLY on 720 / PS4 (if they are even out yet) next year?  The PS360 will still be getting their versions of COD next year, as will just about every other major multiplatform release.  Most of these games will also recieve a Wii U version as well... unless you think developers are just going to ignore all the extra $$$ they'd make by skipping out on the Wii U.

Developers aren't just going to abandon PS360 once all three next gen consoles are out, and this is where Wii U benefits most because it will recieve the bulk of multiplatform games that will be released either across current gen consoles, next gen consoles, or all consoles.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
