Well, after Dragon Age, Oblivion/Skyrim, Mass Effect 2, GTA or Borderlands 1/2 I value them so much more... To be honest, most american/western game just have weak characters and shallow plots. They often focus on pure depiction of violence and call that "Mature". Japanese Games offer a completely different form of entertainment and there is no western Game in this generation that rivals FF XIII's depth of characters and Story.

I strongly, strongly disagree. ( And gameplay is much more important than story anyway)

Japan has produced some great games this generation, (Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, Bayonetta, Xenoblade Chronicles...) but FF, RE, annd MGS were not among them.

Yes, MGS was...You can't argue against MGS4 and Peace Walker being quality.

Yes, I can. Not with Peacewalker, because I haven't played it and I'm talking about console entries, nor portable ones, but MGS4 suffered from an overdose of quicktime sequences and cutscenes to the point where it was often more movie than game, which held is back from being great.
