The oddest part about RE4, Rol, is that it sold 0.46m in Japan on PS2, and 0.66m in total (GC+PS2). It really makes one wonder what is going on with the market's reaction to the series being on different platforms than playstation, either as exclusive to another console, or a timed exclusive. Similarly, CV X sold 0.34m on the PS2, and 0.81m in total (DC+PS2). That's in both cases half of what it pushed on PSX. Now, on PS3, it sells a little over 1m with RE5.
CV numbers are pretty similar to RE4 numbers, a 0.15m diff, despite CV being spinoff. I think there's more to this than meets the eye.
