more likely than not he is a born psychopath, which means he can't feel empathy or remorse - in that case there is no help for him as you can't teach these people these feelings

Well, I never watched Dexter, but this boy (in the 2 minutes I listed to his call) failed to show any emotion concerning his deed or his victims. His expression was as blank as it gets. Now, I'm no psychologist, but to me it seems that he may simply not be able to feel anything about that and never has - a classic Psychopath/Sociopath.

He keeps a level head throughout, but around halfway through he is insistent about how horrible he feels and how he never wants to do it again, and he pleads with her to get him some psychological help.  I have no pity for this guy and he deserves whatever he gets, but he does seem to feel remorse.
