GoldenEye was great and Nintendo never (ever) should've listened to Rare's designers (since when should designers be given that kind of business input?) in that case.
They should've re-inked Bond for several more exclusive games on Nintendo platforms. If those Rare designers really wanted to work on Perfect Dark and do something different -- fine, but they should've retained the rights to the 007 license and let another team make more 007 games.
Bond really was the perfect character for Nintendo -- cool and wide-appealing and sophisticated ... without being so violent and over-the-top that it didn't fit in with Nintendo's overall image.
