Adjusted for inflation, the top 13 movies of all-time are 2D.

Don't trust inflation numbers first of all. There is no real way as of yet to determine inflation's impact. Second a producer making a movie doesn't care. Even if gone with the wind did better, he's going to look at Avatar and say "I want that!".
