Yeah, honestly, I'm not buying it as an absolute, either. They might have spoken with Ninteno first, or Nintendo might have made the best offer, but I cannot believe that a new IP that sold nearly 2 million copies would not have a sequel made eventually, especially since it sounds like the game was pretty much completed already. It would have happened. Someone else would have jumped on this. I just think it never went down the ladder very far and that Nintendo snapped it up early. It will be interesting to see what happens with this. Obviously SEGA is getting theirs somehow, or they never would have agreed to let someone else publish. Platinum will obviously see less sales with this move, so I'm inclined to think they insured that Nintendo would be taking most of the risk. Nintendo would probably even be fine with it under-performing, as I think they're mainly doing this to have an adult game they can use for show-and-tell. It's a bit of a shame, as I think the Bayonetta IP could have grown by a large margin had it been on all three systems. As it is now, if Bayonetta 2 compares poorly against the sales of the first game, then this might be the death knell of the IP. |
" death knell of the IP " ... LOL .. thats the spirit! ... never give up... even if bayonetta2 was already in its grave... hiliarious!
some people just dont get it.. and continue to be in lalaland.. even when hard facts are presented..
LOL totally gonna enjoy the next time this happens.. butthurt so good
