Wii U won’t make Achievements Mandatory for all games.

My exact sentiments on achievements.

You know, I really agree with this. I've played a lot of games with trophies and achievements, but the only time I've ever had FUN getting those completed was while playing Battlefield 3. They have an assignment system that, when you complete each assignment (by getting a certain amount of kills with certain weapons or meeting some other criteria), unlock new weapons, dog tags, vehicle weapons, etc. 

It's SUPER fun... I hope companies do this more and more, and I hope Nintendo does as well.
