Please remember that speculators can spur on false demand. Resellers prey upon console launches, because there is no downside. They order in advance to secure units that they can then sell at a profit through online auction sites. If the demand isn't there then they just return the product to the retailer for a complete refund. We should all be familiar with this practice by now.
They made good money off of the Wii. So it stands to reason that they are going to probably try the same with the successor. Hell they tried the same with the PS3 driving sales through the roof. Before they found out that nobody was willing to pay their asking prices. Which had them returning the console in droves. Might be part of why WalMart a brick and mortar is offering a expensive bundle. It entirely obliterates a resellers profit margin. It may prove very smart indeed, because they will be able to get the system to genuine customers.
