But yeah i know what you're saying, but you know how devs like to use "It" words. But yes it was the TV manufacturers that made it up, but it still is their way to say 1080P as anytime you see 'FullHD' on something it does 1080P, Where as before any tv that was under 1080P was only "HD-
Ready"and lots of other device makers and people use it when they go to 1080P. thats why when tablet/phone makers started to use HD screens you would see them use stuff like "Now you can record in FullHD 1080P video" "Now you can enjoy your videos and games in FullHD" etc, so FullHD has just kinda become the term for 1080P, as anytime you see it being used it has something to do with that, just like next we will have UltraHD .

Hasn't really been an it word for about 5 years tho. I don't even think you can buy 720p TVs anymore lol

5 years?, i still see it being used by manufacturers even today. All you got to do is walk into a store and you will see TV's with "HD-Ready" "FullHD" and "3D-Ready" plastered all over them lulz.

Also im pretty sure it wasnt 5 years ago when phones and tablets started using screens that could do 1080P O_o.

Anyway has the ever been a time you seen the words "FullHD" on something thats not used to describe something that can do 1080P?

"it word" implies it's new fad or something to me. Rather than a term that is basically irralivent in this day and age, basically all TVs are "full HD". 

As for using HullHD for something not 1080p, I seem to remember some manufacturer getting into trouble for putting Full HD labels on TVs that couldn't actually display 1080p but that was years ago lol. 

Can you think of any game that a developer has refered to as being full HD (and not mentioning 1080p), that renders in 1080p?
