Sure, but if like me, you want to properly comunicate with your friends in your GAMING EXPERIENCE, you're gonna need an OS that delivers. Something like steam would be great. Some people may mention Xbox Live is good too, but I've seen it working at a friends house and he said he needs to pay for that, so that's not for me. 

They do have voice chat, with video no less, and messaging....its one of the first Wii U features they showed off this year
