I do wonder what people do to their phones that causes this. I close all of my apps regularly (double tap the button -> hold finger over icon -> hit x). It still doesn't help. It's not like it's filled with crap either, mostly just music.

Thanks for the info, I've been trying to figure out how to close apps on my partners iPhone . Seems rather long winded though, isn't there a quicker way?

Anyway, is it an older iPhone that's been upgraded to a newer iOS version? I've heard a few people suggest it slows down after updating to a new iOS.
