I star my journey with Rol in tow.
He doesn't seem very impressed by me.
On Route 1, we discover a bunch of Pidgeys.
As always, Rol crushes those he engages with.
I enter Viridian City and immediately go to the Center. Then, it's off to the Pokemart!
They give me a fetch quest back to Pallet Town.
Back in Pallet Town, I receive something called a Pokedex. It's sort of like an encyclopedia, except I have to fill it out myself. I know! I'll fill it with all sorts of ridiculous tidbits and data. Hmm... Onix should be lighter than water, Pikachu can cause lightning storms, and Rattatas come in packs of 40! That ought to do the trick!
On the way out of town, I stop by my rival's house hoping to meet that hot sister of his. She's so glad to see me, she gives me a gift!
I hoped it was sex or chocolate, but it turns out to be a map. Aw well.
Rol and I go back north, raping encountering a few wild Pokemon along the way. We stop at the Mart for an important errand...
And then it's time to get some new friends!
In Route 22 to the west, we encounter a Mankey at level 3. It is easily captured and added to the team.
I named him Spurge.
On Route 2, I encounter a Male Nidoran. He's at level 6! His new name is Turkish.
Before I go into Viridian Forest, I need to train up a bit. So until I'm ready to report my progress, I'll write more later.
