That's actually true, but look at it this way. Look at the units of vita sold vs 3ds. The game has around 20% of the vita players in japan in 1 week and the second fastest selling vita game in japan after persona 4 the golden. I believe its also the second highest selling game already or 3rd in japan seeing the highest is persona with like 25% of the vitas with 210k+ sold. I don't remember kid icarus' sales but its ratio percentage was somewhere around 5-10% i think? To lazy to check :p but yeah it hasn't even sold a mill to date on 19m sold system. That's the reason they say that though i personally hated that game. I don't consider it a fail or anything of the sort I'd say decent. This on he other hand is a success because of the difference in ps vitas sold in japan and it actually made the system sell 5x the normal amount

Ratio is never, never a good metric for success when talking about video game sales. Publishers couldn't care less, all they want is hard numbers. If, hypothetically, this game (or really, any game) was released on the 3DS as well as the Vita and sold better on the 3DS than the Vita (say, a 50k-100k difference), the publishers would be much happier with the sales on the 3DS than the Vita. Same deal even if the situation was flipped. Ratio means nothing to them. There's no way a publisher would be happier with 100k over 200k sales even if the attach rate for the game that sold 100k was higher (not a very hard accomplishment either considering the Vita's low sales compared to the 3DS's).
What matters most is hard numbers and whether they were able to recoup costs, make a profit, and (possibly) expand the userbase. On the last point, it's not the highest selling Miku game so that's not the case. For the rest, only the publisher knows. The one guy on Twitter was saying a sequel would be hard to make but it just seems like a troll to garner more sales.

FF X HD will be big, but I don't see how a remaster of a 10+ year old game is going to be a turning point. It's not exactly FF VII remake. And besides, it's also on the PS3 (and FF games are more popular on consoles) so that really cuts the Vita's legs if it were going to have that turning point you speak of.

What's sad is that those numbers aren't even that great and to use them as tie-ratios shows how desperate PSV situation is in Japan at the moment. Also, despite such a big game for the PSV; it still was not able to surpass the 3DS in sales that week. I have a feeling it'll be out of the top 10 next chart and Vita will be down to it's deplorable numbers(<10K) once again.
