'Brutal honesty' is generally used to describe a truth that's both hard to say and hear. It seems entirely inappropriate considering the topic at hand is about a piece of hardware. I was also not aware of any posters who hadn't accepted the fact that the PS2 was eventually going to stop selling.
PS2 sales are naturally going to wind down, but devs will still make games for the console if they sell, and retailers will still sell them if it makes them money. "The PS2 is a unique one -- we still generate a whole lot of profit off PS2 sales." That's why it hasn't been dropped and forgotten yet, at least not entirely in first world countries, probably still has a bit of life in it yet to sell in poorer markets.
