This, but in their defense they were never really big on those types of games anyway. Thats where 3rd parties come in but we know what happened there,(especially this gen). Doesnt look great when you see a bunch of Just Dance knockoffs and not an AC or GTA in sight. But i think they are changing course with the Wii U, i might be meh on it now, but i still think it has a brighter future than Wii did. There getting better 3rd party support than Wii ever did and the system hasnt even released yet IMHO

Starfox, Zelda a Link to the Past, Super Metroid, Donkey Kong Country, Zelda I, Zelda II, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario Bros.,  Myke Tyson's Punch Out!! all tell a different story.

So yes, they know how to make games that appeal to the core gamers.
